Welcome, Grouponeteers!
Howdy, all you lovely Groupon ladies and gents! Welcome to Max Photography. Find out all about our photo booth here. Please give us a call at (512)814-5415 or email us to check about availability. You are, of course, more than welcome to buy a Groupon without reserving a date, but you may end up having to celebrate your birthday 3 months late. Once we get your details, we’ll send over our agreement so we can hold the date for you. We’ll also be checking in on Groupon’s site to see if any questions arise.
More Photo Booth FAQ

In short, no. It does not. We don’t know what you’re talking about.
Going Blind Googling Yourself
Everyone does it. You’re on your laptop and you get the urge. You peek furtively around; no one is looking. You’ll just sneak a quick peek. It’s no big deal. You type in…
your first and last name. Honestly, what did you think I was talking about? But seriously, this is an interesting phenomenon. Just searching the term “googling yourself” brings up 730,000 pages. There is a term for it- Egosurfing. I had no idea. Perhaps it is due to the fact that the internet generation is the most self-referential and egotistical generation to date. Think of it as a full-length mirror that you can bring anywhere.
And for years, I have lived in the shadow of a homonym.
Justin Elledge, a one-hit wonder of the movie world. He appeared in a minor role in Problem Child, never to be heard from again. He was such a bit player, his entire biography is summed up in one word: male. I can’t even find a picture of him. And he plagued me for years. Always occupying the first few hits on Google. If anyone needs reminding, Problem Child came out in 1990. Even 15-18 years later, the ghost of this single-serving actor’s career was haunting my self-googling.
But a couple years back, after I started blogging about my business, I googled myself. And there it was. In black and white, 72dpi glory. Myself, the first hit on Google. VICTORY. Hi-fives all around. To myself.
Sorry, doppelganger. Your reign of terror and mediocrity is over.
And in the extraordinarily unlikely event that the other Justin Elledge is reading this, my apologies. We should get a beer and discuss at length our battle of egos.
Trinity and Jesse’s Wedding
The ceremony for Trinity and Jesse was simply beautiful. The weather cooperated at Lady Bird Lake after threatening rain all morning. After the ceremony, a parade consisting of the wedding guests, the Austin Bike Zoo, and the Minor Mishap Marching Band led the party to Big Red Sun for the reception. We had tons of fun photographing this wedding, and invite you to check out the pictures.
Rumors: Lightroom on iPad
What what?
Here’s what Adobe insider Terry White has to say on the matter: “Wouldn’t it be cool if we had Lightroom for the iPad? All I can say on that one is…..
.” That sly wink says it all: I’ll be buying an iPad soon. Also, there is the very real, non-rumor ability of the iPad to import photos via USB card reader with an adapter. Perfect for weddings, on-location shoots, etc. Awesomical.
Here’s a link to Terry’s page. Very very sweet if you’re into tech stuff.

Adobe CS5 Debuts Today!
Is anyone else chomping at the bit like I am? I normally don’t get so amped up over product releases, but I can’t stop refreshing my browser to see more information regarding Adobe’s new Creative Suite. Maybe it’s because I’ve been using CS1 for the past 5 years, but the changes seem pretty revolutionary. Check it out for yourself.
Stu-Stu-Studio
Oh man. It’s all ready for move-in. All I’m lacking is a desk and some storage. This is the view from my chair. SO TIGHT! This was a huge labor of love, and wouldn’t have been possible if not for my dad, brother and family. I’m overjoyed to have this thing ready to go. Presenting Max Photography’s Studio!
New Friends
New visitors to the studio bring new friends in from out of town.

Stu-Stu-Studio
Although it’s been in use for quite some time, our new studio is about to be officially complete. I’m looking at my primed and painted baseboards as I type this. After those go up, it’s truly time to move in. I feel like a squatter right now, surrounded by boxes, but that time is drawing to a close. Once I’m all moved in, I’ll upload before and after pictures. This studio is awesome, and it’s all custom. The only thing I didn’t do myself was the wiring. Sweetical.
